In order to make the dry skin care effective, it is important to divide between moisture-poor skin and lipid-poor skin. Moisture-poor skin: natural moisturing depends on the production of the corneous layer of the epidermis. Every single day new cells are produced in the basal layer of the skin, and they constantly push older ones up toward the surface of the skin. They form the corneal layer and are fundamental as for supplying lubrication to the skin. Thanks to intercellular adhesive junction all cells stick close, preventing, in the same time, loss of moisture. Dermatological tests have also proved that the the skin loses the moisture due to enviromental factors such as: exposure to dry air, sun, air conditioning and temperature fluctuations. Water evaporates on the corneal epidermis. Lipid-poor skin: if the skin is lipid-poor, it means that it has a low level of sebum. It could be due to tendency of the skin itself or the process of premature aging.
